To provide an environment of profound peace and love in which people are reminded of truth while they relax, connect, & have fun in the comfort of a home and in the beauty of the creation around them.
In its widest, fullest depth, this sanctuary is one where we want all people who come here to experience God and feel His presence fully. Our prayer is that it will be a holy and sacred place, set apart from the ordinary world as a safe haven, so that people can be reminded that God is their refuge and strength.
Our desire is that anyone who comes to the sanctuary will be able to truly relax, be at ease, and feel comfort as they rest, reflect, and connect with God, His creation, and others. Our hope is that each person who stays in this home or spends time on the property will be rejuvenated and find a renewed sense of love, grace, truth, hope and peace here that truly leads them into a deeper understanding of and closer relationship with Jesus. For He is the one who truly is all of those things in our access to having them now at all times and eternally. It is then that people can draw near to Him, as He draws near to them while they are here.
Upon leaving the sanctuary, we pray that you and everyone who comes will be inspired and encouraged to go live out the beautiful, positive purpose in this world for which you were created. God is with you and you are SO loved!
The poem below was written by Adonia and shared by her at Pappaw’s Celebration of Life in 2023. She felt God gave her these words to help in a time of grief, to remember the joys at their home, but taking what was felt at their home and connecting it to the heavenly home He is preparing for those who know Him for eternal glory. Adonia’s prayer is that The Bluebird Sanctuary can also be a place that is characterized in ways that lead people to the feeling of and longing for their heavenly home.
There is a wonderful feeling one has when entering my Pappaw’s house…come in so you can see - you will find that there’s a generous and unconditional love that is always present for you and for me
There is a big room where we gather and play- we great each other, eat, & visit through the day. A piano was present & praises were sung to the Lord… Come in, have fun & stay a while-hang up your coat- & just wait until you feel all this hope!
You will find a kitchen full of food, family, and fellowship. Meals that bring us together to break bread and have us congregating on lots of things said. You see people serving one another … and there was a special two that were always looking out for each other and for you.
Keep walking and listen with your ear … a loving voice from a chair saying “Hi, I am so glad you are here!” You will see a big smile and then feel a warm embrace-before you leave this space you will get several kisses on your face & you know instantly you are covered in grace.
If you look up, there is a mantle full of delight- in each picture you see, you will find happy memories to behold and it really is quite a sight!As you ponder on what you saw, you will be reminded of the truth that keeps us in awe.
At the front, there is a place where we gather for good times and you feel the light - for sharing gifts, shuffling cards, showing care, sitting in reflection, and sneaking a piece of sweet candy. - it is very peaceful here and helps you feel just right.
In the back there is a room to stay that’s always open for you- to ponder, rest, and recover … a safe space to know real comfort and to believe the love you feel is true. The kindness and joy you experience here will help you feel brand new.
Outside there was a garden full of veggies and fruit- lessons of hard work and quality time can be taken in by us all so well, and then you can soak up the beauty of the flowers to enjoy his creation and don’t forget to take a smell…

The reality of my Pappaw’s house is life changing, but there will come a time for that house to be sold, but let’s not forget what we have been told!… We will see that the similarities are many- the displayed characteristics of our Savior are plenty!
All the things we saw, learned, witnessed, and felt are avenues that lead us to a home that IS everlasting. The benefits of knowing my Pappaw’s house are for sure glimpses of heaven for us all to see, but knowing Christ himself is what will ultimately set you free!
The love, joy, care, hope, service, grace, truth, light, rest, comfort, kindness, and beauty of my Pappaw’s house are all still ours for the taking… Our Great God has a wonderful eternal house in the making!
You don’t want to miss what’s in store for you! It really is going to be the most spectacular view! The best part of it all is a relationship with God-Believe in Jesus’s name and your sins will be forgiven… I promise you will never be the same!
